Accessibility statement
Effective July 5, 2026
This site is built to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology used to browse it. It's an ongoing commitment, not a one-time checkbox — the goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and keep improving from there.
What this site does
A few of the things built into this site to support that goal:
- Semantic HTML throughout, so page structure and content make sense to screen readers.
- Full keyboard operability, including the homepage's horizontal scrolling sections — those can be navigated with the arrow keys or by tabbing to the dot buttons along the side, in addition to scrolling or swiping.
- Visible focus states on every interactive element, so keyboard navigation is easy to follow.
- Descriptive alt text on images, including placeholder imagery still awaiting final assets.
-
Support for reduced-motion preferences — anyone with
prefers-reduced-motionset in their browser or system will see animations and scroll transitions minimized. - Color choices designed to meet AA contrast standards for text against its background.
Known limitations
This site is still catching up to Shawn's real photography and artwork. Some sections currently use placeholder imagery while final, approved images are being gathered — those placeholders are clearly labeled and carry descriptive alt text in the meantime. As real assets are integrated, this statement will be revisited.
Reporting a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, hard to read, or simply doesn't work with the assistive technology you rely on, please say so — through the contact page. Include the page and, if you can, the browser or device you were using. It'll be looked into.
