Effective July 5, 2026
This is a personal site for Shawn Yancy — a hub for her work as a journalist, a founder, and an artist. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects and how it's used. If anything here is unclear, reach out through the contact page and it'll get answered.
What's collected
The only information this site actively collects is what's entered voluntarily into the contact and booking form: name, email address, organization (optional), the topic chosen (press, speaking and hosting, art, foundation, or other), and the message itself. Nothing else is asked for, and nothing is collected without a visitor choosing to submit the form.
Why it's collected
Solely to respond to the inquiry — whether that's a booking request, a press question, or a note passed along to the art or foundation teams. That information is used for that purpose and nothing more.
What's never done with it
Information submitted through this site is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes. This site doesn't run advertising, and it doesn't use the contact form to build ad-targeting profiles.
Analytics
This site may use lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand overall traffic — things like which pages are visited and roughly how many people are visiting. This kind of analytics is cookieless and doesn't track individuals across other sites.
Links to other sites
This hub links out to Shawn's other homes on the web — her art site, The Giving Foundation for Women & Children, and her social platforms. Each of those has its own privacy practices, separate from this one. This policy only covers this site, shawnyancy.com.
Requesting deletion
To ask that information submitted through the contact form be deleted, send a request through the contact page. Requests like this are handled promptly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the effective date above will be updated to reflect it.
