For three decades I've believed the same thing behind the anchor desk, at the foundation table, and in front of a canvas: every story is a chance to give. Journalism let me hand people the truth. Philanthropy let me hand them a future. Art lets me hand them a feeling. It's all the same work — telling the story until someone is moved to do something with it.
